“I don’t know. I mean, if you want to,” Abby mumbled. In her heart of hearts she wanted Ty beside her. She wanted him to brush his fingers over her body and put out the flames that burned so deeply within her. For three years Abby had had her eye on Ty and for three years she had wondered if he could ever be interested in her. But now, in this moment Abby’s uncertainties crept up and one by one she tripped over them.
“I would like to,” Ty said extending his hand out for Abby, once again.
“Oh go on, you know you want to. Don’t worry about me, I can find my way home.” Jess grinned.
Abby smiled and reached out to take Ty’s hand. As his fingers encircled around hers, a pang stabbed at her heart. She glanced down at their hands locked together, before nodding.
Ty lead her out of the club and into the night air. The warm air flowed around her. The rumble of music soon faded into the sounds of horns and city-goers. Abby glanced back over her shoulder checking to see if Jess was behind her, but when the doors to the club closed behind her, she realized she was all alone with Ty.
“So, how was your day?” Ty asked as they moved down the street. Abby shrugged knowing her voice would give away her nervousness.
“Good,” she managed. “And yours?”
“Not bad. Finished up a few classes today. Then your friend Jess asked if I wanted to come out tonight.”
“You didn’t have to say yes.”
“I wanted to though. Especially after she said you would be here.”
“Okay. But for the last three years, you have acted as if you didn’t know I existed.” Abby said trying to make sense of what was going on.
“Actually, I noticed you the very first day, you came on campus. I saw you drop your stack of books in the courtyard,” he confessed as his eyes flashed to her.
“Why didn’t you help?”
“I guess you could say I was too shy then. I was a lot like you, when I first got here. Not sure of what to make of everything or where I would fit in. Over the years though, I came to realize it didn’t matter that I didn’t have a clique.”
Every word that spilled from Ty’s mouth was like caramel on ice cream. The words flowed over Abby and she took them in, allowing them to fuel the fire that burned within her. She smiled at him as their eyes meet.
“You have a beautiful smile, you know that?” Ty paused for a moment and tugged on Abby’s arm forcing her to stop with him. Under the light of the street lamp, he lifted his free hand to tuck it under Abby’s chin. She sucked in a shallow gasp and froze. Ty moved in slowly. The warmth of his breath on her face sent chills through her. His lips brushed against hers for just a moment before he pulled away.
“Sorry,” he said dropping his hand. Abby couldn’t remember how to breathe. The world swayed and spun around her as she tried to remember her own name. Finally through the confusion a giggle escaped her lips.
“Was it that bad?” Ty asked twisting his head to find Abby in hysterics.
“I’m sorry,” Abby gasped trying to catch her breath. “I laugh when I get nervous and the truth is…,” she pulled in air, deeply trying to calm herself enough to speak. “…I have envisioned this moment for a really long time.”
“And? Did I live up to your fantasy?”
Abby shook her head as she keeled over, “No. It was more. So much more.”
“Well,” Ty straightened his shoulders and cocked his head. Pride filled him and he laughed too. “I aim to please.”
“Thank you for that,” Abby said.
“Maybe we should try it again? Only this time without the laughter?”
Abby nodded and pulled herself together. She stared into his eyes as the pang in her heart turned into a dull ache. With her eyes closed she waited for Ty to make his move.
“Maybe we should do this without the bystanders?” Ty mumbled. Abby’s eyes popped opened. Embarrassment flushed her cheeks again as she noticed other couples around them watching. She nodded and stepped closer to Ty. In the warmth of his embrace she found her sanctuary.
“Come on, my place isn’t far from here.”
“Your place?” Abby’s nerves rocked her to her core. She stared up at him with wild, fearful eyes.
“Or I can take you to yours. I just thought since my place was closer, we could continue there.”
“No, that’s fine,” Abby’s voice dropped.
“You sure?” Ty’s eyebrow rose in a question. Abby’s lips pulled up at the corners and she nodded quickly.
Chapter 2
“So, this is your place?” Abby scanned the living room carefully taking in all the different trinkets that lined the bookshelves. She ran her fingers over the images in the pictures and smiled.
“You have been to a lot of places haven’t you?” She turned to Ty amazed by all the pictures of foreign places she had only dreamed of going to. Her eyes caught a painting on the back wall and she moved towards it. A large castle rested on a sea cliff, pulling her in. Every detail from the rocks below the castle to the waves that beat against them enchanted her.
“That was my great-great…” Ty shrugged and laughed at himself. “Well, let’s just say that painting has been in my family for some time. And truth be told I can’t remember if it was my uncle’s or my grandfather’s. But either way it’s something isn’t it?”
Ty held out a small glass filled with brown liquid and handed it to her. Abby absentmindedly took the glass, keeping her eyes locked on the image. The longer she stared at it, the more the image appeared to move. She sucked in a quick breath as her eyes fixed on the waves crashing against the rocks.
“I think I have been there,” Abby mumbled shaking her head.
“Maybe you have. It is a famous castle in Ireland.”
Abby turned then and smiled briefly before shrugging.
“I have never left the United States. I think I would have remembered going to Ireland.”
“Maybe you were there in a past life?” Ty’s eyebrow rose as the corner of his lip curled up.
“Do you believe in past lives?” Abby snickered, lifting the glass to her lips and taking a drink. She immediately pulled it back coughing up the harsh liquor. Her eyes widened as her chest burned.
“What is this?” Abby choked trying not to spill the glass on Ty’s white carpet. Ty quickly grabbed the glass from her hand and chuckled.
“Sorry, I should have asked if you drank whiskey. Let me get you something else.” Ty turned to move back to his kitchen but Abby’s hand was on his forearm stopping him.
“It just took me by surprise is all. I can finish it.”
“Careful, they say this will cause dragon breath.”
“Now you are just making things up.” Abby reached for the glass. She lifted it to her lips and inhaled the harsh aroma. The alcohol burned her nose, but she didn’t want to look like a coward to Ty so she gulped down every last drop. Ty smiled and shook his head as Abby handed him back the empty glass.
“Well, normally people sip this stuff, but hey, if that’s how you want to roll.” Ty lifted his glass and finished the contents in the same manner that Abby had.
“That was,” Ty gasped letting the fire in his throat extinguish before he spoke. “Good.”
Abby giggled and walked over to the couch to sit down. “So,” she said still entranced by all the pictures hanging on the walls of Ty’s condo.
“So,” Ty repeated setting the empty glasses on the coffee table before taking his place beside Abby on the couch. He stretched his arm over the back of the couch corralling Abby to him. She scooted closer and gazed up at him. For the first time she noticed the golden flakes in his eyes.
Ty ran his fingers through her hair and leaned in. Abby’s heart fluttered with the butterflies in her stomach as their lips pressed together. Before she knew what was happening, Ty’s tongue had parted her tight lips and was exploring her mouth. With his free hand, he reached up and began lifting the fabric of Abby’s shirt. She flinched the moment Ty’s fingers traced over
her stomach.
“You okay?” Ty asked pulling back. Abby’s face burned as her eyes darted to her hands. She nibbled on her lower lip and nodded.
“We don’t have to do this you know?”
“I want to, it’s just that…” Abby’s voice trailed off, and she shifted her weight on the couch.
“You’re not a virgin are you?”
“God no. But can I keep my shirt on?”
“You don’t think your breasts are perfect?” Ty’s eyes drifted over her round plump breasts that were snuggled under the sheer fabric of her bra. He pulled his hand out and traced his fingers along the line of her bra and into the valley of her breasts. Abby’s eyes shot to his crotch and smiled as she saw the bulge pressing against the fabric of his pants.
“It’s not that, I just don’t want to ruin the moment.”
“I don’t see how that is even possible,” Ty leaned in and pressed his lips to her neck. The wet kisses thrilled Abby. Moisture pooled in her panties as she scooted closer to Ty wanting him to take her right then and there.
She reached for his zipper and tugged it down. Her eyes floated back up to his face. His smile gave her all the answers she needed to continue. She slipped off the couch and dropped to her knees as her fingers gripped the band around his waist. She flicked the button back and pulled the rough denim fabric to the side, exposing his erection.
“Do whatever you want,” Ty panted as he scooted himself to the edge to give Abby more space. She smiled up at him as her fingers curled gently around the shaft of his erection. Carefully, she pulled the monster from its place of confinement. With her fingers encircling the base of his shaft, her hand moved up as her head went down.
Abby tightened her lips and pushed the crown past them until it entered her mouth. She swirled her tongue around the edge making sure to keep her mouth locked around him as she stroked her hand up and down. A soft coo rose up from the depths of Ty’s chest and escaped his lips.
“Yes,” he hissed dropping his hands to Abby’s head, holding her in place. Her head bobbed up and down slowly ensuring to lick every inch that she could, before popping his cock from her mouth. Ty’s hands remained firm on her head keeping her between his legs. But Abby wiggled her head about and Ty released her.
“Is that what you want?” Abby asked staring up at Ty. A wicked grin stretched across his face. Before Abby could go back down, Ty leaned down and scooped her up and into his lap. He cupped his hand around her head and pulled her face to his. As their tongues wrestled for dominance, Ty slipped his free hand down to Abby’s chest and squeezed the small bulb sticking out from her bra.
His finger and thumb rolled her tiny hardened nipple, and made her body ache for more. She pressed herself closer to him and wrapped her arms around his head. The twitching of his cock against her leg amused her as she shifted her weight allowing herself to straddle him on the couch. Ty smiled and inched her skirt up over her thighs giving her more room to move.
Abby dropped her right arm and slipped it between them tracing the lines of his chest until she reached the hem of his pants. Ty gasped the instant her fingers were around his shaft. She lifted her body up and centered his monster between her legs. With a flick of her thumb, she pushed her panties to the side. Abby pulled back from the kiss to stare into his eyes as she lowered herself down onto him. He gasped as he entered her. The moment she had been fantasizing about for so long was real and she wanted to savor every moment.
Ty’s hands grabbed onto her hips as she rocked herself over him. With each thrust she forced him deeper into her. His hands roamed freely over and slipped under her shirt. She threw her head back savoring their connection.
“You are so fucking deep,” she panted with each thrust of her hips. The couch squeaked in protest under their weight but Abby didn’t care. She was a million miles away drifting in the ecstasy of Ty’s strong body. Then her body caved around Ty and she held him to her panting.
“More,” Ty whispered pulling her hair away from her head to whisper in her ear.
“Give me just a moment,” she gasped trying to catch her breath. She pulled away from him. With his hands under her shirt, he lifted it upwards. Abby immediately recoiled from Ty and jerked her shirt back down. But it was too late. Her heart broke as Ty’s pleasure faded into concern.
“Why did you have to do that?” Abby asked trying to climb off Ty. Ty’s hands flew to her hips keeping her in place.
“I don’t mind the scar,” he whispered. “In fact, it just proves to me how special you are.”
Tears filled Abby’s eyes, and she shook her head. Ty’s cock throbbed within her body and he pulled her to him.
“Do you still feel how hard I am in you?” he cooed. Abby didn’t say a word but simply nodded her head.
“I don’t care about superficial things like that. You shouldn’t either.”
“But,” Abby pulled in a sharp breath of air and wiped the moisture from her cheeks. She couldn’t believe how quickly she had gone from absolute bliss to total embarrassment, in just the matter of a heartbeat.
“Don’t,” Ty said putting his hands around Abby’s face to force her to look at him. In the depths of his eyes she noticed the calm gaze and admiration lurking in the golden flecks.
“You are beautiful just the way you are.”
Ty leaned in and pressed his lips to her forehead. The gentle brush against her skin sent chills racing through her. She nodded and tried to smile but the moment was lost.
“I think I need to go,” she said backing away. She rose off him and her body felt the loss of his monster instantly. She stepped back from the couch with a sigh of regret and shame. Although Ty was still hard and wanted more, she knew she wasn’t ready. She pushed her skirt down over her thighs and shifted her panties back into place.
“Don’t go. Stay here tonight. We don’t have to do anything. We can just lie in bed next to each other,” Ty pleaded. He reached his arm out and clasped hers hoping she would think twice about going.
For a split second Abby thought about storming out. She wanted the peace and tranquility she could only find in her room. But the longer she stared at Ty, the more she saw the compassion in his gaze. He wanted her there, scar and all.
“I’ll stay,” she finally said and plopped down beside Ty. She glanced up at him and saw the question forming on his lips.
“Go ahead and ask,” she said dropping her gaze.
“How?”
“Did I get it? I don’t know. I have had it since birth. My parents won’t tell me the story. But I think I was born with my heart on the outside and the doctors put it back in.”
“Wow, that’s amazing.”
“Sure, only it’s a major bummer in times like this.”
Ty twisted in the seat and faced her. The smile on his face stretched to his eyes. Slowly he drifted his hand down her chest all the while keeping his eyes locked on her.
“It doesn’t make you a freak. It makes you special and to be honest with you, I like it. May I see it again?”
With her nerves rattling, Abby lifted her shirt up. A white jagged line traversed her body, from her collar bone to her ribs. She swallowed down the lump that was forming in her throat, as Ty’s fingers traced over the mark.
“Incredible.” He leaned closer and kissed the length of the line. Each kiss grew in passion until he slipped his hand under the fabric of her skirt. Abby gasped when Ty pulled back the elastic band around her underwear and slipped his fingers through. She closed her eyes keeping her shirt raised as Ty peeled back the layers of her flower and pushed his fingers into her.
“You’re still wet,” he mumbled. “And I want you.”
Chapter 3
The salty sea air drifts around her aimlessly as the wave’s crash against rocky cliffs below her. Abby’s eyes are fixed on the horizon and she clings to her shawl for warmth.
“Please,” she whimpers hoping the current of air will bring her plea to the one she loves. Over the horizon a dark
image floats through the clouds. With every passing moment her heart beats increase. She knows that the dark sinister shadow moving towards her will bring her the escape she so desperately needs.
“Please,” she whispers again and stretches her arms out to the sky, welcoming the shadow. A clap of thunder startles her, and she turns. The castle she calls home rises up on the shore like a beacon welcoming her. But fear grips her holding her hostage on the high cliffs.
“I don’t want to go,” she screams to the bricks and rocks. They rumble causing the ground to quake. Before Abby can move, her feet slip from the edge of the cliff and she falls.
As the air whips about her hair she squeezes her eyes shut, waiting for the impact of the water. Moments pass and there is no final crash, no instant death to be had. She peeks through half-closed eyes, to find herself soaring high into the clouds. The light of the sun warms her skin.
“Yay!” she squeals opening her arms out to take the wind under her. As she rises higher than ever and twists in the everlasting freedom, she laughs at her never-ending freedom. The clouds part below, offering her a clear view of the ocean she once feared. There in the placid waters she sees her redeemer. The winged creature throws its head back and its eyes widen. The razor-sharp teeth jolt out of its mouth as it grins.
Abby shot up out of the bed with beads of sweat dripping down her forehead. Ty is resting peacefully beside her, his back turned on her and he is snuggled into the pillow.
“What the hell was that?” she thought trying to take in the scene. Her mind raced to the night before and she realized she was still at Ty’s place. Her heart drummed in her chest, and her nerves quaked. Every inch of her being screamed at her to run, but with no immediate danger in sight, she couldn’t figure out what to do.
Carefully, she pulled back the sheets and slipped one foot to the bed. The bed moaned as she rose and she grabbed her shirt from the floor. She glanced down at the scar stretching across her chest and quickly covered herself.
